Reform J&A

Comprehensive house reform in the municipality of Torrelles de Llobregat. A family of four bought this house to renovate and make it their home. The project was developed around the family’s need to integrate the different stays of the day area into a single space.

Distribution
The premises in terms of distribution were large diaphanous spaces in which to reconcile family life.

On the ground floor we have the living room-dining room-kitchen. We separate the environments with a fireplace furniture made of plaster coated with microcement. The double-sided wood-burning fireplace allows us to see the fire from the kitchen and from the living room.
We design the L-shaped kitchen with a central island. The arrangement of oven and microwave in parallel columns allows us to have both appliances at a comfortable height and give continuity to the furniture.
On this floor there are two large children’s bedrooms where you grow up playing. Unlike the rest of the house, we lay a parquet flooring that is warmer and more comfortable for use.

The main bathroom consists of a shower and work screen covered with the same microcement as the rest of the facings and flooring, generating a continuous envelope that next to the natural wood cooking plates give it a warm touch.

On the top floor, we have the master bedroom and remote work office.
An “open space” suite, in which the different areas (living room, bedroom, bathroom, etc.) are integrated into a single large and open space.

The suite has a spa-type bathroom. A shower area and bath area with a panoramic window that frames the fabulous views towards the mountains.

Taking advantage of the slope of the roof, we place the dressing room and the telecommuting area in the lowest area. Using low furniture, they take advantage of low-height areas for storage.

The choice of functional furniture allows fluid circulation through the space.
The continuous microcement floor is our common thread that unifies all environments.
